# How do I change a player's name or swap someone out?

If someone can no longer come and you've got a replacement, **just change the name on the existing player** — there's no need to delete anyone or pay again. It's the same few steps as correcting a spelling.

1. Go to the **Players** page on the booking system.
2. Find the player that needs changing. On a mobile, tap the arrow on the row to open up the rest of the details.
3. Click **Edit Player**.
4. A slide-out appears — change the name or role.
5. Click **Save**.

If nobody can take the place, you'll need to [remove the player and get a refund](https://help.monopoly-run.co.uk/en/article/removing-a-player-and-getting-a-refund-7c6uyi/) instead — but that's chargeable, so swapping the name is always the better option.
