How does the non-visit fines work?
Due to the nature of our gameplay, some situations can lead to skewed results for teams that might not have actively participated in the game for the whole day. For example, they get a set of properties in the early stages of the day and then decide not to continue with the game afterwards. This can considerably change the leaderboard for that game, leading to the team that has tried the least to win. We think that is unfair to all the other teams in the game who are actively trying to participate until the very end and potentially missing out on rent from the team who have dropped out.
This is where the fine system comes in; for every property you don't visit (regardless of which objective level/speed the team chose), your team will be fined 1.5 times the current rent cost. This factors whether that property is part of a set or has a hotel on it.
After calculating them, all money from the fines is given to the 'bank'.
