# Removing a player and getting a refund

Deleting the player is what triggers the refund — there's no separate request to make.

1. Go to the **Players** page in the booking system.
2. Tick the checkbox next to each player who's no longer coming.
3. Click **Delete** above the table, then confirm.

Stripe processes the refund automatically and it reaches the account you paid from within **10 to 15 days**.

Refunds are not for the full amount, and **the sooner you cancel, the more you get back**. An admin charge is deducted to cover the bank and card fees already paid, and that charge increases on a sliding scale as the [cut-off deadline](https://help.monopoly-run.co.uk/en/article/what-is-the-cut-off-deadline-1k6k0v/) approaches — the closer to the Run, the less chance we have of filling the place.

So if you already know someone isn't coming, don't sit on it. We'll publish the exact rates here once they're confirmed; in the meantime, get in touch if you need the figure before deciding.

**Try to fill the space first.** If you've found someone else to come, don't delete anyone — just [change the name on the existing player](https://help.monopoly-run.co.uk/en/article/how-do-i-change-a-players-name-or-swap-someone-out-px4k0b/). That's free and instant. Deleting should be the last resort.

⚠️ Refunds are only possible up to the [cut-off deadline](https://help.monopoly-run.co.uk/en/article/what-is-the-cut-off-deadline-1k6k0v/). Once the system is in lockdown, players can't be removed and no refunds can be issued.
