What do we do for Protests/Demonstrations?
Are demonstrations in London a risk to the Monopoly Run?
We’re aware that demonstrations can occur in London at any time, and this is something we always factor into our planning for the Monopoly Run. We do not plan to cancel a Run because of demonstrations.
During our recent recce, we came across a demonstration. It was well-managed, sensible, and posed very little risk. In previous years, we’ve also operated alongside demonstrations without issue.
What should teams do if they encounter a demonstration?
Most demonstrations are placid but can be noisy. Passing by them on the side of the road is generally simple and safe, but teams should assess the situation at the time and avoid any area where they feel there may be risk.
Where we know there are planned protests or demonstrations, we will send notifications to teams via push notifications and the app to help you plan your route.
If your team encounters a demonstration during the Run, it is very helpful to get in touch with us via the live chat in the app. This allows us to provide guidance and support in real time.
How does Monopoly Run handle this?
Our approach is pragmatic and safety-focused. We continue to monitor the situation closely and will share updates if necessary. Participant safety is always our top priority.
