# What is Free Parking and how does it work?

Free Parking is a shared pot of money that any team in your game can win by checking in at one of the Free Parking locations. You get **one visit** during the day, so timing it well matters.

### What are Chance Cards?

Chance Cards are dealt to your team when you check in at certain locations. Each one either **adds money to your balance or takes money off it**. Anything deducted goes into the shared Free Parking pot, so the pot grows through the day as teams pick up penalties. Some Chance Cards also award an extra Free Parking visit.

### Where are the Free Parking locations?

There are **three Free Parking locations**, scattered at random across **Zone 1**. They change each year and you'll only find out where they are on the day of the Run, in your team pack.

Checking in works exactly like any other location — you have to physically be there.

### How much of the pot do we win?

A **randomly generated share, anywhere between 20% and 80%**. You never win the whole pot, and Free Parking can't be owned.

### When should we go?

That's the tactical bit. Go too soon and the pot may be small; leave it too late and you may not get there at all. If another team has just cashed in, the pot will have dropped.

### Can we visit more than once?

Your one visit can be used at any of the three locations, and that's your lot by default. Extra visits are only available if a Chance Card gives you one.
