Q: How many people can be in a team, and do we need a leader?

A team is a maximum of 7 people, and any leader or helper counts as one of those 7. We suggest a minimum of 3. We're strict about the 7 — requests for bigger teams get a polite no. Coordinators: the Dashboard of the booking system shows it as a purple circle on a zoomable map. Share the exact spot with your teams beforehand. To start, your team must be standing inside that circle and check in on or after your official start time. The Run takes place on the first Saturday in March each year. Bookings for it open the previous November. We announce the exact opening date and time on our <a href="https://www.facebook.com/MonopolyRun">Facebook page</a> and on <a href="https://monopoly-run.co.uk/">our website</a> beforehand — you don't need a Facebook account to read the posts. Bookings open in the evening, and spaces go quickly, so it's worth watching for the announcement rather than checking back through November. Have your player details ready before then. There's a <a href="https://help.monopoly-run.co.uk/en/article/how-many-teams-and-players-can-we-bring-thlcc2/">cap on places</a> and it has been reached in as little as three days. ⚠️ Don't book trains or accommodation until your place is secured. If the Run sells out or is altered in any way, we can't guarantee you a replacement place, and we can't accept liability for travel, accommodation or other third-party costs. How do I change a player's name or swap someone out?

Accepted Answer

If someone can no longer come and you've got a replacement, just change the name on the existing player — there's no need to delete anyone or pay again. It's the same few steps as correcting a spelling.

Go to the Players page on the booking system.
Find the player that needs changing. On a mobile, tap the arrow on the row to open up the rest of the details.
Click Edit Player.
A slide-out appears — change the name or role.
Click Save.

⚠️ You can only do this before the cut-off deadline.

If nobody can take the place, you'll need to remove the player and get a refund instead — but that's chargeable, so swapping the name is always the better option.

Question 2

Team packs, badges and when locations are revealed

Your digital team pack arrives by text on the morning of the Run. Badges are collected on the day from St Bride Institute, between 10am and 4pm.

When do we get to see the exact locations?

In the team pack on the morning — that's the first time the exact spots are revealed.

Before then, group coordinators can view a redacted preview of the pack in the booking system. It outlines which locations you'll be visiting without pinpointing the exact spot along the road or street, which is plenty for planning your day. Ask your coordinator if you'd like to see it.

How do we get the digital pack?

On the morning of the Run we text each team's registered phone number a personalised link to download that team's unique pack. It contains your locations, your start time and your app login details.

🔒 Please don't share your download link with anyone outside your team.

The night before, coordinators can also see all their teams' login codes in the booking system. That's your backup if a text doesn't arrive.

Can we have a paper copy?

Yes — one hard copy per team, collected from a marshal on the day. Coordinators are sent a QR code the night before, by email and in the booking system; the marshal scans it to issue your group's packs.

What should we bring on the day?

Accepted Answer

Warm clothes, water, comfortable shoes and a charged phone with mobile data. It's a long, active day and almost all of it is outdoors.

Warm, weatherproof clothing. Early March in London can still be cold, and you'll be out in it from morning until evening.
A bottle of water for each person.
Lunch, or money to buy it. A packed lunch is fine; most groups prefer to bring some money and grab something on the route. There's no set lunch time — teams stop when they choose.
A charged phone with mobile data. The Run happens in real time, and your team needs the MR Live app to check in, track your stats, complete challenges and take part in the quiz.
Comfortable footwear. The route is flat, but you'll be on your feet for most of the day and the wrong shoes will spoil it.
