When do we get the team packs & badges?

Team Packs

We will provide two versions:

Digital pack
Paper/Hard copy

On the morning of the Run, we send text messages to the numbers associated with each team. These messages contain a personalized link for the team to download their unique version of the 'Team Pack', which includes the app login details. Please remember not to share this link with anyone outside your team.

You also have the opportunity to collect a paper version of the pack from one of the marshals who will be walking around. There is a maximum of one pack per team. It is up to your group to have a hard copy or a digital version. If you are a group with many teams, we request that only one person from your group collect all the packs on behalf of your teams.

Group coordinators have access to a redacted/preview version of the pack, which can be found on the booking system. If you are attending and would like to see the pack, please speak to your group coordinator.

The night before, Group Coordinators will receive access to all their teams' login codes (via the booking system) as a backup in case the text messages don't reach the teams.

Badges

Everybody registered on the system will get a Monopoly Run "Live" badge as part of the entry fee. These badges will be sent to the group coordinator using the address supplied at the point of group registration. The badges will be packed and dispatched on the day of the Run, and you should expect to receive them sometime during the following week

Question 2

When is the start time and where do we meet?

Your teams will need to be at the Start Zone that your group coordinator has selected (done after the first time of logging in) ~10 minutes before their start time. Group Coordinators can see the exact point for the Start Zone by going to the booking system and looking at the dashboard page for the Start Zone map.

Our first start time is 9:30 a.m., and there are starts every 5 minutes up to and including 10 a.m. Start times are automatically assigned to games. We will release your team's start time as soon as possible; typically, this is within 7 days of the cut-off deadline. These will be available via the booking system on the dashboard page or by visiting the 'Teams' page

We cannot provide the option for you to choose your start times.

Starting at 9 a.m., our marshalls will roam the Start Zones and can provide paper copies of the team packs upon request. For those starting at Waterloo, please note that our marshalls will be located under the clock in the station. We kindly ask that you utilize the entire concourse of the station if you are starting at Waterloo.

Question 3

When is the Run & when do bookings open?

The booking system will open for bookings in the evening on the day of the opening. We suggest visiting our Facebook page for full information and details on the opening time.

For those looking for information about a September Run, we did run one in 2024. This was a one-off event, and we will not run any more in September. The March Run will still be continuing.

Question 4

How many in a team?

The maximum team size is 7; this includes any leaders/helpers.

We are strict about this, and any requests for larger teams will receive a polite no. This is due to the safety and enjoyment of all the players in a team. We also suggest a minimum of 3 people in a team.

If your teams have anybody under 14, they must be accompanied by a Leader.

Teams with all members aged 14 and over may go around without a leader - but the final say is down to the group leader.

Explorer units/Senior section - an adult must accompany the group in London. This doesn't mean you have to be with the team(s) all the time, but someone must be on hand (in London) to deal with issues/emergencies.

Question 5

What are the 'Start Zones'?

A large number of people now attend the event. In the past, we have asked everybody to come to one location to pack their team packs and then start their day. This meant we asked a lot from the area we marked as our Start Location. We have moved to a 'hybrid start' to alleviate this issue.

We now have 3 Start Zones:

Waterloo
Hyde Park
Regents Park

As a group, you must select one of those three locations from which all your teams will start (your group coordinator does this). We only have limited spaces at each location (approximately 1/3rd of the total groups registered). When it's your team's time to start their day, they will need to "Check in" via the app at the Start Zone for your group.

We call it a 'Hybrid Start' because team packs will be distributed digitally to all teams on the morning of the Run. More information about the Team Packs can be found here - When do we get the team packs & badges?

With these changes, we hope to have fewer people in one location at one time. It will also mean that teams will only need to be at their Start Zone for a short time (~10 minutes before their start time).

After the cut-off deadline, no changes to Start Zones can be made. This is because we are working on getting all the data in a suitable position for the day of the Run, i.e. allocating teams to games, which is based on a number of points of data but specifically the Start Zo

What do I need on the day?

It can be a very long day so coming prepared is very important.

It goes without saying that end of early March can still be quite cold so having the right clothing is a must along with a bottle of water. Pack lunch is optional but we find most groups get their members to bring some money and find somewhere to eat when they are going around.

You will also need to have a mobile phone as our Run is based on active participation and is in real time (data is required). We have an app that you will use throughout the day to help you check in, check your team stats and also take part in the challenges and quiz. The app is available on iOS and Android devices.

A decent pair of shoes and socks are important, you are on your feet most of the day and although it is flat your feet will not thank you if you use the wrong shoes.
